What is Path to the Plate?
When it comes to consumers making the connection between agriculture and health, there is concern of where they are obtaining their information. Myths and misinformation about the production of our food supply and its effect on our health is emerging ever-quickly through social media and other sources. This misinformation leads to misunderstanding of our agriculture systems and the positive connection these systems have on the health of Texans.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has developed a response to this misinformation titled Path to the Plate.
Path to the Plate is a comprehensive, educational approach to providing relevant, current, and factual information to consumers so that they may make more informed decisions when it comes to agriculture and their health. It is an unbiased examination of agriculture, the food we eat, and the connection to our health. Path to the Plate will teach the public about the role agriculture plays in providing proper nutrition, preventing food waste and alleviate unsubstantiated fears about the safety of our food supply.
